Paul, known as "The Problem Child," has racked up victories against Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley. His only loss came in 2023 to Tommy Fury in a split decision. That fight was arguably Paul's toughest test to date.
Not one to shy away from big names, Paul has called out several high-profile fighters. He's mentioned Gervonta Davis, Canelo Alvarez, and Floyd Mayweather. But it's his challenge to Anthony Joshua that's gotten people talking.
Paul didn't hold back when calling out the former two-time world heavyweight champion. He said, "Joshua doesn't have a chin, has no skill and he is stiff."
Carl Froch, the retired boxer nicknamed "The Cobra," had some strong words for Paul. On his show "Froch On Fighting," he warned about the dangers of fighting Joshua.
"F***ing game over," Froch said. "I think 'AJ' is way too big and he throws a good right hand down the pipe and if he lands that big right hand on Fake Paul's chin…It might be the end of his life if he's not f***ing careful."
Froch has always been critical of Paul. He's even said he'd consider coming out of retirement if a match-up with Paul was on the table.
Joshua, for his part, has responded to Paul's challenge. He's said he's ready to fight anyone, any time. But for now, he'll stick to the traditional side of the sport.
Paul's win over Tyson in November raised some eyebrows. The age difference was stark, with Tyson approaching 60 and Paul not yet 30. Paul won by a wide margin on points.
Tommy Fury, who handed Paul his only loss, has been out with an injury for much of the time since their fight.
It's clear Paul wants to keep climbing the boxing ladder. But as Froch's warning shows, taking on a fighter of Joshua's caliber could be a dangerous move.
