Lionel Messi's bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, has fired back at Logan Paul with a video showing off his boxing skills and a stern warning. The former MMA fighter turned protector didn't hold back in response to Paul's recent comments.
Cheuko, who heads up a 50-strong security team for Messi and his family in Miami, posted a clip of himself unleashing rapid, powerful punches on a heavy bag. This display came after Paul had dismissed Cheuko in an interview.
"It's an MMA guy who thinks he can box, who thinks he's entitled to victory or attention because he's Messi's bodyguard."
Cheuko didn't take kindly to these words. The Paris-born fighter, who grew up in a tough neighborhood before moving to Miami, addressed Paul directly in his response.
"You said I need attention. You need attention. You start with this, you start to talk about soccer players to make a fight with soccer player. So now we are going stop talking because I know you are a YouTube product. I come from the streets, I'm a street product and people on the street, they don't talk a lot. So now stop talking, I see you on the ring, man."
This isn't the first time Paul has stirred up controversy in the soccer world. He previously challenged Messi himself to a boxing match, which likely didn't sit well with Cheuko.
Cheuko's martial arts background includes MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu. He regularly posts videos of his intense training sessions, often ending with a brutal MMA kick on his training partner, Luan Aguirre Elias. The pair joke about damaging walls during their sparring sessions.
When he's not protecting the world's greatest soccer player, Cheuko keeps busy as an entrepreneur. He co-founded Voclain, an eco-friendly clothing line, with Besmir Dauti in 2023. The company, inspired by Paris and Miami, uses organic cotton manufactured in Northern Portugal.
As the war of words heats up, fans will have to wait and see if this verbal sparring leads to an actual fight between Cheuko and Paul.
