Carl Froch Reveals Surprising Opponent For Potential Comeback: "It's Not Who You Think"

Froch, known as 'The Cobra', hung up his gloves in 2014 after a stellar career. He won the WBC super-middleweight title in 2008 by beating Jean Pascal. After that, he had 12 straight world title fights against top opponents like Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler, Lucian Bute, and Jermain Taylor.

His last two fights were against George Groves. The first one ended in a controversial ninth-round stoppage win for Froch, who had to get up from a first-round knockdown. They had a rematch at Wembley Stadium in May 2014, where Froch won by knockout in the eighth round. He called it quits after that fight.

Froch and Calzaghe have been bitter rivals for a long time. Froch has always been angry that Calzaghe never fought him, but Frank Warren claims it was Froch who avoided the fight.

Now, years later, there's a chance they might finally face off. Alalshikh revealed on the Froch On Fighting YouTube channel that he made an offer to Calzaghe last year.

"Last year I gave him [Joe Calzaghe] an offer to fight you. He accepted, then the next day he changed his mind. It was a good number, we tried to convince him, but not an exhibition, it was real. Still we want to see this."

Froch said he's keen to hear more about the offer. It's a real fight, not an exhibition, which makes it even more interesting.

Calzaghe retired with a perfect 46-0 record, with wins over big names like Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr, Chris Eubank, and Mikkel Kessler. But Froch doesn't agree with that unbeaten record. He thinks Calzaghe should have lost one fight, though he didn't say which one.

If this fight happens, it will settle a rivalry that's been brewing for years. Fans have always wondered who would win between these two British boxing legends. Now, they might finally get their answer.
