IOC: Boxing stays on the Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will organize the Olympic boxing tournament at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. Committee members unanimously voted to stop the rights of the International Boxing Association (AIBA), thereby depriving the AIBA right to organize the most important event in Olympic boxing.

Amir Khan's opponent is changed

Former featherweight champion Billy Dib (45-5, 26 KOs) of Australia will be a new rival for Amir Khan (33-5, 20 KOs) on July 12 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Rigondeaux stops Ceja

In the WBC eliminator for the super bantamweight title in the fight of two former world champions Guillermo Rigondeaux (19-1, 13 KOs) scored a spectacular knockout win in the eighth round over Julio Ceja (32-3, 28 KOs). The bout looked more like a brawl than a fight. In the eighth round, both fighters were penalized one point by the referee Russell Mora for low blows. In the same round, Rigondeaux send Ceja to the canvas with a left hook to the head. Ceja was able to rise before the end of a count, but referee decided to stop the fight at 2:59.

The American showed on the scale a mark of 154½, the Mexican was 154¼. Initially, Charlo was appointed a rematch with Tony Harrison for the WBC light middleweight title. However, during the preparation Harrison got injured, and the fight had to be postponed.
