Former world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev commented on the news of his brain tumor, which some media have been wrongly interpreted as cancer.
"I have no brain cancer. I do not have it, I did not say that. It's acromegaly, not cancer. Do cancer patients walk like me? Where went the rumor? I do not know. Someone started it, and now everybody writes about it," Valuev said in his last interview.
Acromegaly is a disease associated with dysfunction of the anterior pituitary. This disease actually forms a tumor which has to be removed surgically and held after treatment with hormonal agents.
