Tony Bellew Reveals Shocking Outcome for Eubank Jr vs Benn: "It's Not Going the Distance"

Ronald Crawley March 21, 2025, 5:10 a.m.

This fight continues a family rivalry that started with their dads in the 1980s and 1990s. The two were supposed to fight in October 2022, but it got cancelled when Benn tested positive for a banned substance.

After that, Benn spent two years clearing his name. He fought twice in the US and got two low-key wins on points. Now he's free to fight in Britain again.

Eubank Jr had his own ups and downs. In 2023, Liam Smith stopped him in a fight. But Eubank Jr turned things around and beat Smith in their rematch.

For this fight, Benn is moving up two weight divisions from welterweight. Eubank Jr is naturally bigger, but he's not allowed to put on more than 10 pounds above the middleweight limit on fight morning.

Tony Bellew, a former boxer, thinks the fight will be really intense. He talked about it on SportingTalk and said:

"If [Benn] feels any kind of exhaustion, that last thing you want to do is be in with a bigger man. It's two fights in one, first six Conor will be so ferocious, so brutal, so vicious, I think he gets the job done."

Bellew thinks Benn might even stop Eubank Jr in the first six rounds. But he also says if the fight goes longer, Eubank Jr's size advantage could come into play.

Bellew believes Benn is the better fighter overall. He doesn't think Eubank Jr is as good a boxer as Eubank Jr thinks he is.

Neither Eubank Jr nor Benn have been world champions yet. But they're both well-known because of what their dads did in boxing years ago.

The fight on April 26 will show who's the better fighter now. It's sure to be an exciting night for British boxing fans.
