Usyk Return is Targeted For April

The original plan was to feature WBO cruiseweight titlist Oleksandr Usyk on the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs HBO pay-per-view undercard on March 18th at the Madison Square Garden in New York. But now it looks like his next bout will come in the following month.Usyk lost his position on the card when Roman Gonzalez and Carlos Cuadras were matched in separate fights instead of facing each other in a rematch.

Kirkland breaks nose, Cotto fight off

Roc Nation Sports today received notification from James Kirkland’s team that Kirkland has suffered an injury which will force him to withdraw from his match against Five-Time World Champion Miguel Cotto on Saturday, February 25, 2017. The reported injury is a fractured nose. Unfortunately, the entire HBO Pay-Per-View show at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas is cancelled.

GYM wins IBF light heavy purse bid

A purse bid was held in the IBF Office today for the light heavyweight eliminator for #1 between Artur Beterbiev vs. Sullivan Barrera. There were two bidders: Groupe Yvon Michel and Main Events. Groupe Yvon Michel bid $251,000 and Main Events bid $181,000. The fight must take place within 90 days.

Arum: "Every boxer wants McGregor because they'll knock him out!"

Top Rank boss Bob Arum has claimed any pro boxer who faced Conor McGregor in the squared circle would be able to knock the two-weight UFC champion out. Arum was responding to questions regarding star fighter Manny Pacquiao’s recent admission that the Filipino Senator would love to share a ring with McGregor.

Lomachenko, Sosa set to unify at super-featherweight

Vasyl Lomachenko is at it again as the Ukrainian star attempts to pick up yet another world title. Not content with claiming two world titles in the last six of his eight fights, ‘Loma’ is aiming to unify a division for the first time on April 8. The 28 year-old will compete in an eighth world title fight in a row when Lomachenko battles the tough puncher Jason Sosa in a bid to claim a second championship at the 130 pound limit.

UFC coach says ‘bigger’ McGregor KOs Mayweather early

UFC trainer Mark Henry believes Conor McGregor holds a weight advantage over Floyd Mayweather that could see the Irishman score an early knockout in their super-fight. McGregor, 27, is lining up a massive cross-codes battle against Mayweather in late 2017 or early 2018, a fight that could earn both a nine-figure sum should terms be agreed soon.
