Yuri Zakhareev, 19, from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Ukraine, in the final of the World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, in the 71 kg weight category has won the unanimous decision of the judges (5:0) over the representative of Russian Boxing Federation Vadim Musaev and became the 2021 World Champion.

Investigation into bribery of judges at the Rio Olympics is underway

An investigation is underway into possible tampering with the results of the Rio games five years ago. Suspicions have fallen on the outcome of eleven bouts. Investigators suspect, for example, of bribing the referees of Michael Conlan's duel with Vladimir Nikitin, after which the Irishman "thanked" the referees with his middle finger. However, he was so convincing in this fight that Nikitin withdrew from the Olympic semi-final because of injuries.

Olympic participant Vasily Belous dies in Moldova

Participant of the 2012 Olympic Games Moldovan boxer Vasily Belous died as a result of a car accident at the age of 34. The accident took place in the Ocnita district of Moldova. Belous couldn't cope with the driving and crashed into a stone gate of Blessed Virgin's Assumption Monastery in Calarasiovca village. He had wife and two children.

Anastasia Taran named the best boxer of the European Schoolboys Championship

According to the Ukrainian Boxing Federation, Anastasia Taran from Dnipro, Ukraine, was declared the best boxer of the European Schoolboys Championships which ended today in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the final of up to 60 kg weight category, Anastasia gained a TKO victory in the first round over an opponent from Poland thus winning the gold medal of the continental championship.

Hearn wants to sign Olympic medalists

Anna Lysenko advanced to the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament

Ukrainian Anna Lysenko in one-eighth of the Olympic tournament in Tokyo in the 69 kg weight category won by a unanimous decision of the judges over Umaimu Belahbib of Morocco, the African boxing champion of 2017 and the winner of the bronze medal at the 2019 African Games. At the end of three rounds, all the judges gave a score of 30-27 in favour of the Ukrainian.

Umar Kremlev becomes the new President of AIBA

The number of infected athletes after qualifying in London increases to eight
