Anastasia Taran became European champion

At the 2022 European Junior Championships, which takes place in Montesilvano, Italy, Anastasia Taran from Dnipro won a split decision 4:1 (29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 29:28) over Mary McDonagh from Ireland and became the owner of the gold medal of the championship in the weight category 70-75 kg. Thus, Taran became a two-time European champion. Prior to that, in 2021, Taran won the gold of the European Championship among schoolchildren (13-14 years old) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she was recognized as the best boxer of the competition.

Earlier, Ukrainians Victoria Shcherbina and Taisiya Pokusai became bronze medalists of the European Junior Championship in Montesilvano.
