IBA banned from hosting Olympic boxing tournaments again

In the interests of athletes and the boxing community, the Executive Board (EC) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided that the qualifying and boxing competitions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will not be held under the authority of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

This is the second consecutive Olympics that the IBA has been banned from organizing Olympic boxing competitions. Various concerns of the IOC regarding the management of the IBA, including the refereeing process and its financial dependence on the Russian state-owned company Gazprom, remain valid.

Whether boxing will remain on the LA 2028 Olympics will be discussed at a later stage.
