Deontay Wilder's Former Foe Issues Stark Warning: "His Career Is On The Line"

Wilder's recent record didn't look good. He lost four of his last five fights. Tyson Fury knocked him out twice in a row. Joseph Parker beat him on points. And Zhilei Zhang stopped him in a brutal fight.

But Wilder's career has had plenty of highlights. He held the WBC heavyweight title for over five years. During that time, he defended it 10 times. He beat some tough opponents like Luis Ortiz, Dominic Breazeale, Bermane Stiverne, and Chris Arreola.

His comeback fight took place at Charles Koch Arena in Kansas. Wilder stopped Herndon in seven rounds, showing he still has power in his punches.

Now, Wilder's looking ahead. He wants to fight Anthony Joshua or Fabio Wardley. But not everyone thinks that's a good idea.

Tyson Fury, who's now retired, says Wilder should quit boxing. In a recent video, Fury shared his thoughts:

"I didn't see the full fight, but I did see a clip. I said 'please somebody stop this man from his own self. He's a shadow of his former glory.' I know it's hard to hear that, but at 40-years-old, the three fights with me done him. Completely ended his career."

Fury thinks Wilder's performance against Herndon was sad to watch. He believes their three fights finished Wilder's career.

It's worth noting that Fury himself retired in January 2023 after losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk. He plans to return to the ring in 2026.

Wilder now faces a tough choice. Should he keep fighting or hang up his gloves? His next move will show if he still has what it takes to compete at the top level.
