Gervonta Davis' boxing future has become a hot topic recently. Fans are wondering if the WBA lightweight champion will step back into the ring soon.

Davis last fought in March at the Barclays Center in New York. He faced Lamont Roach in a bout that ended in a majority draw. The judges' scorecards read 115-113 for Davis and 114-114 twice. The fight wasn't without controversy. In the ninth round, Davis took a knee, but no official knockdown was scored. This decision might have changed the outcome if the round had been scored 10-8 for Roach.

After the close call in March, many expected a rematch between Davis and Roach. The fight was planned for August in Las Vegas. But as the summer rolls on, there's been no announcement about the bout.

Adding to the uncertainty, Davis has faced some personal challenges. He was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges, which has complicated his boxing career.

Rumors started spreading that Davis had decided to hang up his gloves for good. Some claimed he had no plans to return to the sport. But Davis' coach, Kenny Ellis, quickly shot down these rumors. On social media, Ellis stated:

"Per usual FAKE news."

It's worth noting that Davis has talked about retirement before. He previously mentioned plans to retire at the end of 2025, saying he was falling out of love with the sport.

For now, boxing fans are hoping Davis will return to the ring soon. The lightweight division is full of exciting matchups, and Davis remains one of its biggest stars. Only time will tell if we'll see "Tank" back in action or if he'll surprise everyone by calling it quits earlier than expected.
