The fight took place on June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Paul dominated the contest from the start, facing little challenge from the 39-year-old Chavez. This win has sparked discussions about Paul's potential to compete at the highest levels of boxing.

Andre Ward, who held world titles in both super-middleweight and light-heavyweight divisions, shared his thoughts on Paul's chances of winning a world title. Ward summed it up in three words: "Anything is possible."

Ward explained his stance:

"I mean, with these sanctioning bodies these days… anything is possible. You know, I think Jake Paul, if he's going to be considered a real fighter, he's got to pay his dues like everybody else, I don't think there should be no handouts or nothing like that, in terms of getting him in position. I'm not a Jake Paul hater, if he can have a whole other fan base and bring them to boxing and sell out arena's, respect. And I also respect the fact that he is in the gym."

Ward's comments suggest that Paul's chances of winning a world title have more to do with the state of sanctioning bodies than Paul's abilities. He emphasized that Paul must earn his position like other fighters, without special treatment.

The former champion also praised Paul's ability to bring new fans to boxing and his dedication to training. These factors could play a role in Paul's future success in the sport.

Paul, known as "The Problem Child," has set his sights on world titles in the cruiserweight division. He's called out current champions Gilberto Ramirez, who holds the WBA and WBO titles, and Badou Jack, the WBC champion.

The WBA currently ranks Paul at number 14 in their cruiserweight rankings, though this position is under review due to backlash from the boxing community.

Paul's victory over Chavez Jr marked a significant step in his boxing career. At 28 years old, the former YouTube star has shown he can compete with experienced boxers. However, as Ward pointed out, Paul will need to continue proving himself to be considered a serious contender in the world of professional boxing.
