Canelo, now 34, has built an exceptional career over two decades. He's won world titles in four weight classes and became the first undisputed super-middleweight champion of the four-belt era. With almost 70 fights under his belt, he's beaten top names like Gennadiy Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev, Jermell Charlo, and recently Jaime Munguia.

But there's one loss that still bothers him. Over 10 years ago, a young Canelo suffered his first defeat at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now, he wants to set things right.

In a recent interview with DAZN Boxing, Canelo said:

"Yes, of course [I would like to fight Mayweather again]. I would love the opportunity to get revenge. Obviously we know it's not going to happen but yes, I would love to get rid of that little thorn."

Mayweather, now 48, retired from professional boxing in 2017 after stopping UFC star Conor McGregor. Since then, he's only participated in exhibition bouts, including matches against WWE personality Logan Paul and undefeated pro Tenshin Nasukawa.

While a rematch seems unlikely, Canelo's focus is on his upcoming fight. He'll defend his IBF super-middleweight title against William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh. If he wins, there's talk of a potential clash with Terence 'Bud' Crawford.

Canelo's career shows no signs of slowing down. The Guadalajara native continues to prove he's one of the best fighters on the planet. Even if he can't get that Mayweather rematch, his legacy in the sport is already secure.
