IBF has officially ordered the start of negotiations for organizing a fight for the heavyweight world championship title between Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO) and Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KO). The parties have until May 22 to reach an agreement on this issue.
Chisora is the official challenger for the title of champion of the International Boxing Federation, but such a fight is unlikely to happen in the near future. Dubois plans to hold a unification fight with the world champion in the WBA, WBO, and WBC versions Oleksandr Usyk. It is expected that the representatives of the IBF champion will soon present a letter on this matter requesting to postpone his mandatory defense.
The Dubois-Usyk fight is scheduled for July 12. This event will take place at Wembley Stadium in London and will be a repeat of their fight two years ago, in which the Ukrainian won by a knockout.
