Talks have begun for an Alimkhanuli-Adames unification fight

Negotiations are underway to set up a middleweight unification fight between Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) and Carlos Adames (24-1-1, 18 KOs).

The fight may take place at the Premier Boxing Champions event organized in the United States. Alimkhanuly holds the IBF and WBA championship belts. Adames is the WBC world champion.

Alimkhanuly last boxed in early April. In his last fight, Adames drew a meeting with Hamza Shiraz. This possible fight will be one of at least a few tournaments jointly organized by the PBC and Top Rank in the near future.
