Lewis told Seconds Out he doesn't feel tempted by the excitement of fight week anymore. He said:
"Been there, done that. Even when I hear the crowd roar I remember, so it doesn't really leave me too much."
The British-Canadian fighter last stepped into the ring in 2003. He faced Vitali Klitschko in a bloody battle that ended with a technical stoppage. Lewis inflicted serious damage and cut Klitschko's eye, forcing the fight to end.
During his career, Lewis achieved great things. He won an Olympic medal and became the undisputed heavyweight champion in 1999. He beat big names like Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Frank Bruno. He also got revenge wins over Hashim Rahman and Oliver McCall.
Lewis was known for his stiff jab and straight right hand. He trained with Manny Steward at the famous Kronk gym in Detroit. Many consider him one of the best heavyweights ever.
While Lewis stays retired, there's talk of other comebacks in boxing. Rumors suggest Wladimir Klitschko might return. Daniel Dubois, the current IBF champion, said he'd give Klitschko a shot if he wants it.
Mike Tyson recently made a controversial return to the ring. He lost an eight-round fight against Jake Paul.
But for Lewis, his fighting days are firmly in the past. He's happy with what he's accomplished and doesn't feel the need to prove anything more in the ring.
