Anthony Joshua, the former unified heavyweight champion, has named the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time. Joshua shared his thoughts during a recent chat with Queensberry Promotions.
For years, Joshua himself was seen as one of the most powerful heavyweights in boxing. He unified the IBF, WBA, and WBO world titles and stopped his first 20 opponents. It wasn't until 2018 that Joseph Parker became the first boxer to go the distance with him.
Joshua's career has had its ups and downs since then. He lost to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 but won the rematch. He's picked up wins against Kubrat Pulev, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou. But he's also faced tough losses, including two against Oleksandr Usyk and a recent stoppage by Daniel Dubois in September.
Now, Joshua's got a big decision to make. He can either go for a rematch with IBF champion Dubois or possibly fight Tyson Fury, who's set to face Usyk in December.
When Queensberry Promotions asked Joshua to name the hardest hitting heavyweight, he didn't hesitate. His answer was simple:
"George Foreman."
Foreman's career speaks for itself. He's widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers ever. At 45, he became the oldest man to win the heavyweight title, knocking out Michael Moorer. He fought in legendary bouts, including the famous 'Rumble in the Jungle' with Muhammad Ali.
When Foreman hung up his gloves in 1997, he left behind an impressive record. Out of 81 fights, he won 76, with a whopping 68 of those wins coming by knockout.
