Tyson Fury Weighs In On Anthony Joshua-Jake Paul Matchup: "People Will Be Shocked"

Paul recently beat 58-year-old Mike Tyson and called out Joshua, claiming the British boxer is stiff, lacks skill, and doesn't have a good chin. Joshua, an Olympic Gold Medalist and former two-time heavyweight world champion, responded positively to the tentative offer.

While fans would prefer to see an all-British heavyweight clash between Joshua and Fury, the latter insists he's retired. This makes the Joshua-Paul fight a more likely possibility in the near future.

During a media scrum after confirming his retirement, Fury gave his thoughts on the potential bout:

"I think it's a good fight. I think it's a real, 50/50 fight."

Fury delivered this assessment with a straight face, adding to the surprise of his statement.

Joshua has shown interest in the fight, and his promoter Eddie Hearn backs the idea. Paul predicts the fight will happen in 2026. However, Joshua will likely take two or three more traditional contests first. If he's successful, he might consider a big-money sideshow fight when he's got one foot out the door of the sport.

Joshua is expected to return to the ring before the end of the year. He's recovering from elbow surgery and could be ready for a November fight with a full training camp.

Meanwhile, Paul has made progress in the boxing world. He's now ranked number 14 in the WBA cruiserweight rankings. This development means WBA and WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez could make a voluntary defense against Paul.

As both fighters continue their careers, the possibility of a Joshua-Paul matchup remains an intriguing topic in the boxing world. Fury's assessment adds an unexpected twist to the speculation surrounding this potential fight.
