Miguel Cotto has picked Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the best fighter he ever faced. The Puerto Rican boxing legend shared his thoughts in a recent chat with BoxingJab TV.

Cotto's career spanned from 2001 to 2017, with just under 50 fights to his name. He made history as the first Puerto Rican boxer to win world titles in four different weight classes. His impressive record includes wins over big names like Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, and Sergio Martinez.

When asked about his toughest opponent, Cotto didn't hesitate:

"The best one? I think that Floyd without a doubt, Floyd Mayweather was the best one."

This statement carries weight, considering Cotto has shared the ring with both Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. These two fighters are often talked about as some of the greatest boxers of all time.

Cotto and Mayweather faced off in May 2012. Mayweather won the fight and took home Cotto's WBA world light-middleweight title. The following year, Mayweather went on to unify the WBA and WBC titles at 154lbs by beating Canelo Alvarez, handing the Mexican his first loss.

Cotto's career ended in 2017 with a loss to Sadam Ali in his 47th professional fight. Despite this final setback, Cotto's legacy as one of the best fighters of the 21st century remains solid.

You can watch Cotto's full interview where he names Mayweather as his toughest opponent on BoxingJab TV's YouTube channel.
