Ricky Hatton Warns Manny Pacquiao About Ring Return: "Father Time Is Undefeated"

Pacquiao hasn't had a professional fight in four years. He's only been in a couple of not-so-great exhibitions since then. But now he's aiming to break his own record as the oldest welterweight world champion.

This comeback has got people talking. Fans, fighters, and analysts are scratching their heads about Pacquiao getting a direct shot at the world title after being away for so long.

Ricky Hatton, who Pacquiao knocked out back in 2009, shared his thoughts with TalkSPORT. He's not sure how this fight got sanctioned.

I say this with love - how has he got that world title shot? He's been retired six years. He's got that on previous successes. To walk straight into a world title fight? How is that allowed possible?

Hatton thinks Pacquiao should have dropped out of the rankings when he retired. He's surprised to see him suddenly placed as the number one contender. Hatton suggests Pacquiao should have some warm-up fights first. He also criticizes boxing for focusing more on money than merit.

But Hatton puts things in perspective: "If you can let a 58-year-old Mike Tyson box Jake Paul, Manny Pacquiao coming back at 46 doesn't look too bad, does it?"

The fight isn't officially announced yet, but it's expected to happen on July 19. If Pacquiao wins, he'll set a new record as boxing's oldest welterweight world champion.

Pacquiao's return against Barrios for the WBC belt is shaping up to be a big event in the boxing world. We'll have to wait and see if the Filipino legend can turn back the clock one more time.
