The date of the tender for the fight for the "regular" WBA heavyweight championship belt between its holder Kubrat Pulev (32-3, 14 KO) and Michael Hunter (24-1-2, 17 KO) is set for May 27. The winning bid will be split in a 75 to 25 ratio in favor of Pulev.
It is worth noting that the WBA "super champion" in the heavyweight division is Oleksandr Usyk, who will meet Daniel Dubois on July 19, and on June 7, the fate of the "interim" title will be decided in a fight between Fabio Wardley and Justice Huni.
The presence of three champions in one weight category allows the WBA to generate more profits from granting rights to hold fights for their "belts," although it significantly reduces the prestige of the titles themselves.
