The boxing evening scheduled for July 12 will take place at the Louis Armstrong tennis stadium in New York. The main event of this tournament will be the fight between WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (23-0, 11 KO) and William Zepeda (33-0, 27 KO), who is the official challenger for the World Boxing Council title.
14,000 fans will be able to watch the event live. Every year, the court becomes one of the main venues for the US Open which takes place in September.
In February, Stevenson won on points against Josh Pedley, thus marking his first fight after signing with Matchroom Boxing. At the end of March, Zepeda won on points against Tevin Farmer for the second time, defending his WBC interim title in the weight category up to 61 kg.
As part of the July evening, there will also be a fight between Edgar Berlanga (23-1, 18 KO) and Hamza Shiraz (21-0-1, 17 KO). In New York, there will also be a match featuring WBC super lightweight champion Alberto Puello (24-0, 10 KO) against former champion of the same weight class Subriel Matias (22-2, 22 KO) and a bout between David Morrell (11-1, 9 KO) and Imam Khatayev (10-0, 9 KO).
