Chris Eubank Jr Drops Bombshell About Conor Benn Rematch: "It's Not About The Money"

The judges scored the contest 116-112 across the board in favor of Eubank Jr. The Brighton-born fighter, now 35, had to dig deep in the final three rounds of this high-octane contest. He threw over 300 punches and managed to wobble the brave Benn, who had moved up two weight classes for this bout.

The fight honored the rivalry of their fathers and lived up to expectations with its intensity and drama.

The weigh-in for the fight wasn't without controversy. Eubank Jr. missed the weight by a tiny fraction, though his team claimed he would have made it if given more time. On fight morning, Eubank Jr. came in under the 170-pound rehydration limit, adhering to the clause in their contract.

Eubank's father, Chris Eubank Sr., joined his son's corner at the last minute after some tense relations. The boxing legend has expressed concerns about his son fighting at middleweight, believing it's too low and potentially dangerous at this stage in his career.

Elliott 'Napper' Amoakoh, Eubank Jr.'s manager, made headlines before the fight by refusing Billy Joe Saunders entry into Eubank's dressing room. In a recent interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Amoakoh discussed the possibility of a rematch:

"Chris has made it very clear to me that this is the fight he wants. This is the fight he wants. He's ready to rock and roll, do it again."

While a rematch clause exists in their contract, it's not yet confirmed. Amoakoh mentioned that terms need to be renegotiated, including potential changes to weight and rehydration limits. However, Eddie Hearn, who promotes Benn, claims that agreements surrounding weights and rehydration are already set to be the same in the rematch.

Benn might consider moving down to his natural weight of 147 pounds for future fights. As for Eubank Jr., he's weighing his options. He might push for a fight against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez or even consider retirement.

The boxing world waits with bated breath to see what's next for these two fighters after their memorable clash at Wembley.
