Billy Joe Saunders thinks Joe Calzaghe would knock out Carl Froch if they ever fought. The two-weight world champion shared his opinion on this fantasy matchup between two of Britain's best super-middleweight champions.

Calzaghe and Froch never actually stepped in the ring together. They're both highly decorated British fighters of their generation, but Calzaghe came up first in the super-middleweight division.

Froch says Calzaghe moved up in weight to avoid fighting him. On the flip side, Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren claims it was Froch who dodged the matchup.

Saunders believes Calzaghe would come out on top. He shared his thoughts with the Daily Mail:

"It would have been a good fight, but there would have been only one winner: Joe Calzaghe. He fought the best and he beat the best. He was a slick southpaw with speed and strength, and a good boxing brain. Froch is strong, but Calzaghe beat strong fighters, such as Jeff Lacy, with ease."

Saunders points out that Calzaghe fought and beat the best. The Welsh fighter ended his career undefeated with 46 wins. He reigned as the king of the super-middleweight division before moving up to light heavyweight. His list of wins includes impressive names like Jeff Lacey and Roy Jones Jr.

Froch, known as 'The Cobra', also had a stellar career. He won multiple world titles at super-middleweight and scored famous victories over George Groves and Mikkel Kessler.

But Saunders thinks Calzaghe's skills would be too much for Froch. He believes Calzaghe's combination of slick southpaw style, speed, strength, and boxing smarts would lead to a late knockout win.

Saunders also notes that Calzaghe was a fast starter, unlike Froch. This could give him an edge in a potential matchup.

Frank Warren, Calzaghe's former promoter, agrees with Saunders. He's equally confident that Calzaghe would come out on top in this dream fight.

While we'll never know for sure how this matchup would have played out, it's clear that both Calzaghe and Froch left their mark on British boxing history.
