Vasiliy Lomachenko, 38, a former world champion in three weight classes with an 18-3 record and 12 knockouts, has officially ended his retirement and plans to return to the professional ring as soon as this fall. That’s according to The Ring, which cited sources close to the situation.

Lomachenko’s decision lines up with the expiration of his long-term promotional deal with Top Rank on May 12 of this year. The Ukrainian now becomes a free agent, opening the door to the biggest and most lucrative fights available, including possible appearances tied to Riyadh Season or Zuffa Boxing.

Lomachenko announced his retirement in June 2025. In his most recent fight, he stopped Australia’s George Kambosos Jr. by technical knockout in the 11th round in May 2024. That victory earned him the IBF lightweight world title.
