Duran's career is nothing short of legendary. He won world titles in four weight classes and racked up 103 victories out of 119 professional fights. He's also part of the legendary 'Four Kings' of boxing, alongside Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, and Marvin Hagler.

The rivalry between Duran and Leonard is one of boxing's most famous. They fought three times over the course of their careers. In their first meeting in 1980, Duran came out on top, winning the WBC Welterweight World championship by unanimous decision.

Just five months later, they met again in what became known as the 'No Mas' fight. Leonard turned the tables this time, with Duran quitting in the eighth round. Their final clash came in 1989 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, where Leonard won by unanimous decision to claim the WBC world super middleweight title.

When asked about the best fighter he ever faced, Duran told The Ring Magazine:

"I have to say Sugar Ray Leonard because look at what he did in his career after he lost to me. It takes a lot to come back from defeat and Leonard did it."

Duran's praise for Leonard goes beyond their personal rivalry. He acknowledges the mental strength it takes to bounce back from a loss and continue to achieve greatness in the sport.

Leonard's ability to rebound from defeat and continue his successful career clearly left a lasting impression on Duran. It's a testament to both fighters' legacies that they can appreciate each other's skills and accomplishments, even years after their intense rivalry.
