Former Champ Eyes Deontay Wilder for Comeback: "I'm Ready to Shake Up Heavyweight Boxing"

Wilder's had a rough time lately. In June 2023, Zhilei 'Big Bang' Zhang knocked him out. Then in December, Joseph Parker beat him by unanimous decision in Riyadh.

For months, people thought Wilder might retire. But he's decided to keep fighting. Now, an unexpected challenger wants to face him.

Shannon 'The Cannon' Briggs, a former WBO heavyweight champion, says he's ready to fight Wilder. Briggs hasn't been in the ring for almost 10 years, but he's eager to make a comeback.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Briggs said:

"I would like to fight him, I think it would be a great fight in Alabama when he comes back. I never really retired, they just won't fight me. I'm going to fight in March so if he wants to go, we can go."

Briggs last fought in 2016, knocking out Emilio Zarate in the first round at London's O2 Arena. Over his career, he's had 68 fights and faced big names like Lennox Lewis, Vitali Klitschko, and George Foreman.

It's not clear if Wilder will take up Briggs' challenge. But one thing's for sure - 'The Bronze Bomber' isn't done with boxing yet. We'll have to wait and see who he picks for his comeback fight.
