Jake Paul's boxing skills have impressed former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. The ex-champ shared his thoughts on Paul's abilities as the YouTuber-turned-boxer gets ready to face Mike Tyson.

Paul and Tyson will step into the ring on Friday, November 15, at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event marks the first time a boxing match will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Paul has built a 10-1 record since switching to boxing. He's scored wins over big names like Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Mike Perry. His only loss came against Tommy Fury in February 2023 by split decision.

The 27-year-old has looked sharp in his last two fights. He knocked out both Ryan Bourland and Andre August in the first round.

Holyfield, who once trained Paul, shared his thoughts on the young boxer's skills in an interview with Fight Hub TV.

"He can really fight," Holyfield said. "Paul came to the gym. He acted as a good student. He's got a good foundation in boxing."

The former champ went on to defend Paul against critics who say he started boxing too late.

"Sometimes people tend to think if you ain't start at a certain age you're just there to have fun. OK, well you get in there with him then! He got a good foundation in the game of boxing."

Paul's upcoming fight with Tyson has caught the attention of many in the boxing world. Even boxing legend Bernard Hopkins has changed his mind about how he thinks the fight will go.

As the fight date gets closer, fans and experts alike will be watching to see if Paul can put his skills to the test against one of boxing's most iconic figures.
