Carl Froch Reveals Surprise Opponent That Could Lure Him Out of Retirement: "I'd Do It Tomorrow"

Carl Froch, the former boxing champion, says he'd get back in the ring for one fight only - against Jake Paul. Froch, who retired in 2014, made this statement recently.

The last time Froch fought was a big deal. He knocked out George Groves with one punch at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 fans. That fight let him keep his WBA and IBF titles. Before that, he'd beaten some tough opponents like Lucien Bute, Jean Pascal, Mikkel Kessler, and Arthur Abraham.

Froch only lost once without getting revenge, and that was to Andre Ward in 2011. Ward was considered one of the best boxers in the world at the time. Froch quit boxing when he was almost 37 years old.

Now, Froch says he'd come out of retirement, but only for Jake Paul. He told Stephen Hendry's Cue Tips channel:

"100% [I would fight Paul]. I wouldn't come back and fight an active professional. I was nearly 37 when I retired and I retired for a reason."

Froch doesn't think much of Paul's boxing skills. He says Paul can't really fight and isn't a real pro boxer. He points out that Paul lost to Tommy Fury, who Froch thinks isn't good enough to win a British title.

Froch also doesn't like how Paul acts. He thinks Paul talks too much and is disrespectful for trying to fight Mike Tyson. Froch didn't hold back, calling Paul names and saying he's told him so directly.

Jake Paul has won 10 fights and lost 1 as a boxer. His only loss was to Tommy Fury, who's the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Paul's got a big fight coming up in November against Mike Tyson, the former world heavyweight champ. You'll be able to watch that one on Netflix.
