Gennady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) and Kamil Sheremeta (21-0, 5 KOs) met the middleweight limit at the official weigh-in ceremony before the Matchroom Boxing evening in Hollywood. Fighters will compete for the IBF world title, which belongs to a fighter from Kazakhstan. Golovkin's weight was 159.2 pounds, Szeremeta was 159 pounds.

In the main event of the evening on December 16 in Parramatta, Australia, local welterweight Tim Tszyu (17-0, 13 KOs) knocked Bowyn Morgan (21-2, 11 KOs) out in the first round. Tszyu sent Morgan to the ring floor with a flurry of punches in the middle of the round. Morgan was able to get up, but was again knocked down with a right hand. The time was 1:54.

Berchelt vs Valdez for WBC title is postponed to February 20

On February 20 at Top Rank Boxing Night in the United States, WBC featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt (37-1, 33 KOs) will finally face former WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez (28-0, 22 KOs). Earlier, the duel was scheduled for December 12, but Berchelt contracted the coronavirus and dropped out of the training process.
