A rematch of Dillian Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs) and Alexander Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs) for the WBC interim and diamond heavyweight titles was scheduled for January 30th. However, the Russian does not get in shape after being infected with the coronavirus and will be ready to enter the ring only at the beginning of spring only.

As stated in an interview to Sky Sports, Whyte's promoter Eddie Hearn, due to Povetkin's absence, may still try to organize his ward a duel with another opponent.

Hearn stated that he would like to put Whyte against a strong opponent, mentioning in this context Andy Ruiz Jr., Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz.
