Hearn responses to WBO: Joshua vs Fury is more important than any belt

Eddie Hearn does not seem happy with the position of the World Boxing Organization, according to the resolution of which, if Anthony Joshua (24-1, 21 KOs) meets Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) in his next fight, missing the mandatory defense against Alexander Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs), he will lose the WBO heavyweight belt.

“We are working on a fight that will outshine all other fights,” the head of Matchroom Boxing said at a press conference before Golovkin vs Szeremeta. "I would be careful in the place of the Organization, because we can immediately say: enough of this policy, let's throw out all these belts! We can give away one belt, or we can give them all."

“We have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to each sanctioning organization for title fights, and now we have Usyk who will probably want a seven-figure sum to wait longer. I'd be more careful here,” Hearn warned. "The goal of the Fury vs. Joshua fight has always been to determine the absolute world champion. When Anthony Joshua came to my office many years ago, it was his dream. We will do everything in our power. So that all belts are at stake, but we will not succumb to blackmail and will not let politics ruin the fight that boxing needs! "
