Next fight of Oleksandr Khyzhniak is not determined yet.
The current amateur European and world champion Oleksandr Khyzhniak has proposals from promotional companies, including Top Rank to turn pro. The best AIBA boxer 2017 received offer from the promotional company which does business for his compatriots Vasyl Lomachenko (11-0, 9 KOs) and Olexandr Gvozdyk (15-0, 12 KOs). However, Khyzhniak said that he would remain in the amateurs until the Olympic Games-2020, and only after Tokyo would think about switching to pro ranks.
The International Association of Amateur Boxing (AIBA) named Ukrainian Oleksandr Khyzhniak, world champion of 2017 at middleweights, the best adult boxer of 2017. The best woman boxer of the past year was the silver medalist of the Olympics-2016 Dutch Nahka Fontaine (75 kg). Russians Anastasia Shamonova and Nikita Piskunov received awards to the best young boxers of 2017.
