Katie Taylor is an Irish professional boxer and former undisputed lightweight world champion, widely regarded as one of the most accomplished female fighters in boxing history. She was born on July 2, 1986, in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, and began boxing at the age of 10, training under the guidance of her father, who was also her first coach.
Taylor had an outstanding amateur career, becoming a five-time world champion and six-time European champion. She also made history by winning the first-ever Olympic gold medal in women's boxing at the 2012 London Games, representing Ireland in the lightweight division.
She turned professional in 2016 and quickly rose through the ranks with dominant performances.
