St-Pierre Says Cardio Work Is Overrated for Fighters

Georges St-Pierre, the former UFC two-division champion, believes traditional cardio training does not carry much importance in mixed martial arts.

"I don’t really believe in cardio if you’re a fighter. I believe in efficiency. Even if you’re in better shape than I am, if I’m more efficient, you’ll get tired before me. If you’re an athlete, efficiency should be your main goal. You need to emphasize skills, technique, and efficiency," St-Pierre said in an interview with Thomas DeLauer.
