Cormier explained why Chimaev can beat Pereira

Daniel Cormier, former UFC champion in two weight categories, shared his opinion on a potential fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Pereira.

“When you look at the light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, you see that he is huge. But he doesn't wrestle. Pereira is not the guy who likes to wrestle. He has shown takedown defense. He has demonstrated that if he hits an opponent, he can knock him out. But he lacks wrestling experience, and we have seen what Khamzat does to guys without such experience. Taking all this into consideration, I find myself thinking that he could well become a light heavyweight fighter. Of course, there are still unfinished business in the middleweight division, but still,” Cormier said.
