James Toney says Roy Jones Jr will beat Floyd Mayweather if they fight. Toney thinks Mayweather's perfect record will end.
Jones and Mayweather have been talking about fighting each other. This has got people wondering if they'll actually get in the ring.
Jones lost his last fight to Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis in 2023. He's 56 years old now but says he'll fight again. Mayweather retired in 2017 after beating Conor McGregor. He left the sport with a perfect 50-0 record.
Toney talked about the potential fight in an interview with Fight Hype. He thinks Jones will win if the fight happens.
"I don't know how it happened but if Floyd fights him Floyd's 0 is gonna go."
When asked who was better in their prime, Toney picked Jones. He explained why:
"The reason why is because Roy fought everyone in their prime, Floyd fought everyone after their prime."
Toney knows how good Jones is. They fought back in November 1994 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Jones won that fight and handed Toney his first professional loss. The IBF world super-middleweight title was on the line that night.
