Tyson Fury Reacts to Deontay Wilder's Comeback KO: "He's Still Not Ready"

Fury and Wilder have a long history. They've fought three times, with their first bout ending in a draw. Fury then snatched the WBC title from Wilder in their second fight and kept it in their third, both times winning by knockout.

Since then, Wilder's career has hit some bumps. He got a quick win over Robert Helenius but then lost to Joseph Parker on points and got finished by Zhilei Zhang. After a year out of the ring, the 39-year-old Wilder decided to make a comeback.

Wilder's return fight was against Tyrell Herndon. He won by TKO in the seventh round after scoring two knockdowns. The referee, Ray Corona, stepped in to stop the fight.

But Fury wasn't impressed with what he saw. He told reporters:

"I didn't see the full fight cause it was on at ridiculous hours in the morning, but I did see a clip on Instagram. I think IFL put a video out and I said please stop this man from his self. He's a shadow of his former glory. I know it's hard to hear that, but at 40 years old, the three fights with me done him. Completely ended his career. I know everyone's got his own reasons and everyone's entitled to do what they want, but it's sad to see really."

Fury thinks Wilder should retire, but the Bronze Bomber has other plans. He wants to fight again before the year ends and is looking at big fights in 2026. The biggest money option out there for him is Anthony Joshua, who's also trying to rebuild his career.

So while Fury might think it's time for Wilder to call it quits, it looks like the hard-hitting American isn't ready to step away from the ring just yet.
