Mike Tyson Reveals Shocking Reason Behind Jake Paul Fight Agreement: "I Was..."

The fight between Tyson and 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul got a lot of attention. It ended up being one of the most watched boxing matches ever, even though many people worried about it.

Tyson, who had been retired for 20 years, wasn't in the best shape for the eight-round professional fight. He even had a health scare with an aggravated ulcer that needed eight blood transfusions. But he still got in the ring with Paul, who was clearly in great shape.

When Fox News reporter Jackson Thompson asked if Tyson was high when he signed up for the fight, Tyson's answer was clear:

"Absolutely."

Thompson then asked if Tyson would have agreed to the fight if he wasn't high. Tyson replied:

"I don't think so. No, I wouldn't have done it. Without cannabis, I get too caught up in my emotions. Without cannabis, I'm very objective."

Even though Tyson wasn't at his best and seemed confused after the fight, he doesn't regret it. He says it let him feel the rush of being in the ring one last time.

Jake Paul had good things to say about Tyson's performance:

"I was surprised at how difficult it was to hit Mike Tyson. His movement, his ability to dodge punches. He's incredibly fast, even at his age."

Paul landed 78 out of 278 total punches and 31 out of 179 jabs. Tyson showed he still has some of his famous skills, like his peek-a-boo style and quick reflexes.

The fight got a lot of criticism. People worried about the 31-year age gap between Tyson and Paul, and some didn't like Paul's choice of opponents. But in the end, Tyson walked away with a $20 million paycheck, even if he can't remember much of the fight.
