Canelo Alvarez wants another shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr. The 34-year-old Mexican boxing star recently told DAZN Boxing he'd love to avenge his 2013 loss, even though he knows it's not likely to happen.

Alvarez started his pro career two decades ago when he was just 15. He's fought nearly 70 times and won world titles in four weight classes. Right now, he's the undisputed super-middleweight champion.

The boxer from Guadalajara, Mexico has only lost twice in his career. He recently beat William Scull in Riyadh on May 3. Now, he's getting ready for a big fight against Terence 'Bud' Crawford on Saturday, September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

"Yes, of course [I would like to fight Mayweather again]. I would love the opportunity to get revenge. Obviously we know it's not going to happen but yes, I would love to get rid of that little thorn."

Mayweather, who's 48 and from Michigan, retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record. He beat some of the best, including Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, and Canelo himself. His last fight was a crossover match-up with Conor McGregor, which he won by stoppage in the 10th round.

The first time Alvarez and Mayweather fought was back in 2013. Mayweather came out on top that night, handing Canelo one of his two career losses.

Even though Canelo wants another go at Mayweather, it's not likely to happen. Mayweather's been out of the pro game for a while now, and Canelo's still at the top of his game. But in boxing, you never know what might happen.
