Ukrainian boxer, former WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk is preparing to return to the ring after a sustained injury and surgical intervention. This was reported by renowned promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk, emphasizing that the recovery process is already complete.
According to the promoter, there has been little news about Berinchyk in recent months precisely due to health issues. Denys successfully underwent surgery, completed a full training camp, and then worked a little on recovery. Krasiuk is confident that the ex-world champion will return to the ring in the spring.
"I think we'll have a fight in the spring," noted Oleksandr Krasiuk. He clarified that this is not about preliminary plans, but about real negotiations that are currently actively underway. A partner is involved in this work—a promotional company by George Warren, with whom there is close cooperation in this direction.
The tentative timing of the return is late April or May. The promoter emphasized that the upcoming fight will not be a warm-up or walkthrough. "Why would he need a tune-up fight? He's already an old man. This tiger is always ready," Krasiuk emotionally described Berinchyk's condition, highlighting his combat readiness and experience.
It is expected that the opponent will be a boxer from the UK, although the final version has not yet been confirmed.
