Eddie Hearn Shuts Down Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Fight Agreement Rumors

Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing and longtime representative of former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, has pushed back on media reports claiming a contract had been signed for a fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury.

According to Hearn, the report circulated by insider Gareth A. Davies is not true.

“That’s complete nonsense. Nothing has been signed for Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury next. There are no agreements at all. Before the accident, there were serious talks: the plan was for Anthony to face Jake Paul first, then fight in Saudi Arabia in February or March, and only after that move on to Fury. But after that accident, everything obviously stopped. Since then, we haven’t talked at all about a fight with Tyson — except that over the last few days we’ve started speaking with Sela to revisit and adjust our plans,” Hearn said.
