Terence Crawford Makes Surprising Admission About Another Fighter: "He's Better Than Me"

Crawford's career spans 41 fights without a loss since he turned pro in 2008. He's won world titles in four weight classes and became the undisputed welterweight champion in 2021. Before that, he held all the belts at super-lightweight in 2017.

The American switch-hitter has beaten some of the best in the business. His list of wins includes names like Israil Madrimov and Shawn Porter. But his biggest victory came against Errol Spence Jr in 2021. Crawford stopped Spence in the ninth round, making history as the first undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era.

Now, at 37 years old, Crawford is getting ready for another big challenge. He'll face Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super middleweight championship at 168lbs in two months. If he wins, he'll be the first male fighter to be undisputed champion in three divisions.

When asked about the pound-for-pound rankings, Crawford said:

"I'd put myself over Inoue, but not over Usyk. I don't understand why The Ring Magazine has me at number three."

Crawford's top three fighters are Oleksandr Usyk, himself, and Naoya Inoue.

Usyk, who Crawford rates so highly, has been undisputed champion in two weight classes. He cleaned out the cruiserweight division before moving up to heavyweight and doing the same there.

Crawford, Usyk, and Inoue are the only fighters to be undisputed champions in two divisions. Crawford's upcoming fight with Canelo is seen as the biggest in boxing right now. If he wins, he'll add another incredible achievement to his already impressive career.
