Deontay Wilder's Next Opponent Might Be A Top-Ranked Shocker: "He's Ready For Anyone"

Wilder's recent record doesn't look great. He lost to Zhilei Zhang in June 2024 when the fight was stopped in the fifth round. Before that, Joseph Parker beat him on points in December 2023. And let's not forget his two losses to Tyson Fury before that.

These setbacks have put Wilder's career at the top level in a tough spot. He used to be known as a fearsome knockout artist, but now he needs to prove he still belongs among the best.

If Wilder wins his comeback fight, he might face Agit Kabayel next. Kabayel is currently the number one ranked heavyweight across all governing bodies. He's in a great position after stopping Zhilei Zhang in his last fight.

In an interview with Sport.de, Kabayel mentioned the possibility of fighting Wilder:

"Deontay Wilder has also been mentioned as a potential opponent in Germany. These are all things that are happening in the background, and nothing concrete has been confirmed."

Kabayel seems focused on his sporting achievements rather than just big paydays. He said:

"Maybe one day there will be a sum that I can't say no to. But for now, I want to concentrate on the sporting side, stay on the sporting path."

The heavyweight division could see some changes soon. Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk will fight for the undisputed title in July 2025. This could create new opportunities for top-ranked heavyweights like Kabayel.

For now, Wilder's main goal is to win his comeback fight in June. If he does, he might find himself back in serious contention in the heavyweight division. But he'll need to show he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
