The interim WBO champion in the heavyweight division, Joseph Parker, commented on a potential fight with the holder of the full WBA, WBO, and WBC titles in his division, Oleksandr Usyk.
āI once approached him and said, āYou have two fights left, the next one will probably be Dubois, and in the last one, you have to fight me.ā And he was like, āNo, no, no.ā I think Usyk wants fights for big money. I believe they will have a financial rematch with Dubois, and then he wants either a fight with Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury again. He said: āDo your thing, donāt worry, after I retire, you can get your chance to fight for the titleā or something like that.
I would gladly test my skills in a fight with Usyk. I believe that at this moment he is the best heavyweight of our generation,ā said Parker, as reported by The Ring.
Let us remind you that on July 19 in London, UK, Usyk will have a rematch with Daniel Dubois.
