Rolly Romero Takes Aim at Devin Haney as Ryan Garcia Situation Unfolds: "He's Ducking Me"

Romero didn't hold back when he talked about Haney's recent fight against Jose Ramirez. Haney landed the fewest punches in a 12-round fight so far in 2025, and fans weren't happy with his style.

"Did he just run? You almost made me sleep. I was warming up and I wanted to turn off the TV," Romero said about the Haney-Ramirez fight.

Romero didn't stop there. He took aim at Haney's whole career, saying, "Haney was never a great figure in boxing. He wasn't when he fought Ryan, and now, he looks more like a track athlete than a professional fighter."

When Haney filed a lawsuit against Garcia for fraud and assault after their fight got cancelled, Romero had something to say about that too.

"Did the substances really make Devin not able to keep his hand up?"

Romero's comment suggests he thinks Haney's poor performance can't be blamed on Garcia's doping.

It looks like we won't see Romero and Haney in the ring anytime soon. Romero said a fight with Haney "would no longer make sense" because Haney "has lost relevance in the boxing landscape."

But Romero's not all trash talk. He showed a softer side when talking about Garcia's mental health struggles. Just weeks before their fight, Romero said, "That's when something hit me... this bastard is not lying." Romero's own experiences with mental health helped him understand what Garcia was going through.

As for what's next for Romero, Oscar De La Hoya is thinking about setting up a rematch with Garcia. Romero's also said he'd like to fight Mario Barrios or Manny Pacquiao. But it looks like Haney isn't on his list of priorities right now.
