Joseph Parker Issues Warning About Usyk-Dubois Rematch: "Things Could Change"

Parker's recent run has put him in prime position. He stopped Martin Bakole in two rounds back in February, following impressive points victories over Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder. These wins have solidified his place at the top of the division.

Dubois, at 27, has had a remarkable turnaround since his controversial loss to Usyk last August. The Brit stopped Jarrell Miller in December 2023, then claimed the IBF interim title with a TKO over Filip Hrgovic. He topped it off with a knockout win against Anthony Joshua in September.

Parker and Dubois were set to fight in February, but Dubois fell ill. Instead of rescheduling, Dubois got the call for a rematch with Usyk. The Ukrainian champion stopped Dubois in their first encounter, which ended in a disputed low blow ruling.

Speaking to Casino Hawks, Parker shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight:

"You can never write Daniel Dubois off. After the first Usyk fight, the Jarrell Miller and Anthony Joshua fights he has become a man on a mission. He comes out and gives it everything he has. He has a good team behind him."

Despite his praise for Dubois, Parker leaned towards Usyk winning if he can avoid Dubois' power. He added:

"However, Usyk is like a master who reads you, breaks you down, has good feints, footwork, and combinations. In the first fight he was very dominant until he got caught with that low blow. In the second fight, Usyk will come with his usual confidence because of how he did in his first fight, but he must be wary of Dubois as he is a powerhouse."

The July rematch promises to be an undisputed heavyweight showdown. Parker will be watching closely, knowing he's first in line to face the winner for all four heavyweight belts. The division is heating up, and Parker's patience might just pay off with the biggest fight of his career.
