The fight settled old family scores. It happened more than 30 years after their dads fought each other twice in memorable bouts. The match was an important part of British boxing history.

Eubank Jr. took away Benn's unbeaten record. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman had promised the winner a shot at Canelo. This makes the victory even more significant for Eubank Jr.'s career.

Joe Gallagher, a well-known trainer, shared his thoughts on social media platform X. He said:

"I would like to see Chris Eubank Jr. move back up to 168 pounds and get his big payday against Canelo at Wembley or Spurs in September"

This idea fits with talks about Canelo fighting outside the United States. The UK could be a stop on his international tour.

Turki Alalshikh, a boxing promoter, told Sky Sports about future plans. He said:

"Whoever the winner is, we are working to fight Canelo in the future. If Eubank wins, he will have the opportunity to fight Canelo in early 2026."

Canelo already has a busy schedule. He's set for two fights with Riyadh Season in 2025. He's also got two more fights planned for 2026.

There's a rematch clause in the Eubank Jr. vs Benn contract. But there's room to move things around. This could allow the Canelo fight to happen.

The fight could take place at Wembley Stadium or return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both venues have hosted big boxing events before.

Eubank Jr.'s win over Benn has opened up new possibilities. Now, fans will wait to see if the Canelo fight becomes a reality in early 2026.
