Jake Paul's Next Opponent Leaves Ryan Garcia Uncertain: "It's a Different Level"

Paul, who started as a YouTuber and turned to boxing, comes into this fight after a win over Mike Tyson last November. That victory raised some eyebrows, as Tyson was 58 years old at the time.

On the other side of the ring, Chavez Jr brings a wealth of experience. The son of Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez has fought 62 times as a pro. He once held the WBC Middleweight World Title and has faced top names like Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, Sergio Martinez, and Danny Jacobs.

Recently, Chavez Jr hasn't been very active. He's only fought once in the last four years, winning on points against Uriah Hall. Before that, he lost to MMA star Anderson Silva in 2021. Now 39 years old, this will be just his second fight at cruiserweight.

"I'll show Paul real Mexican style," Chavez Jr said. "I'll be his toughest test yet."

WBA President Gilberto Mendoza has hinted this could even be a title fight.

Ryan Garcia, another boxer, shared his thoughts on the matchup:

"Oh s**t … I really don't know what state Julio is in. Is he [good]? I mean, can Jake handle a Mexican pressure fighter? It's tough if you're not used to that, you know?"

Garcia's comment brings up two big questions: How dedicated is Chavez Jr to boxing right now? And can Paul deal with the pressure style that Mexican fighters are known for?

It's worth noting that Paul has a win over Anderson Silva, who beat Chavez Jr. But Chavez Jr has way more experience in the ring. You can check out his full record online.

This fight will test both men. Paul faces his most experienced opponent yet. Chavez Jr gets a chance to show he still has what it takes against a newer, younger boxer. We'll see how it all plays out in June.
